What is Puggu?
Puggu is an ultra-lightweight, interactive desktop pet and companion app that floats over your screen. Powered by a custom sprite rendering engine, Puggu hangs out on your desktop and reacts with fluid animations whenever you click on him.
Why does Puggu exist?
Modern workspaces can feel static and demanding. We created Puggu to bring warmth, personality, and small moments of joy to long coding, design, and writing sessions without hogging system resources or cluttering your workflow.
How does it work under the hood?
Engineered using Rust and Tauri v2 for ultra-fast native execution. It utilizes sub-pixel alpha hit testing so mouse clicks on transparent sprite pixels pass straight through to your underlying windows, preventing work interference!
When should you use Puggu?
Keep Puggu running in the background during coding marathons, study sessions, video rendering wait times, or late-night creative sessions. He autostarts on boot with your system and stays quietly by your side.
